Dear colleagues,
Please see attachment and announcement below about a book club being launched by the ISA RC 40.
Are you looking for new ways to stay on top of new publications in the sociology of agriculture and food? Do you want to have some engaged conversations with others in the field about critical agri-food issues? Join us! The Research Committee on Agriculture and Food (RC 40) of the International Sociological Association is starting a critical engagement book club. To find out more, please read the attached, and to sign-up, please complete this online form:https://my.forms.app/katharinelegun/bookclub.
The first book will be the Immaculate Conception of Data by Kelly Bronson. We will plan to discuss the book in November and schedule a meeting according to the availability of participants. Please sign up if you are interested in the book club generally, even if you think it is unlikely you can participate in our first meeting. Any suggestions for future titles are also very welcome, and can be suggested through the form. We would like to welcome folks from a range of backgrounds and career stages to support lively exchange on important issues and exciting new titles. In addition, IJSAF is interested in publishing the collective reflections on each of these books in the journal as an innovative form of book review.
Please feel free to circulate to others who may be interested, and apologies for cross postings.
Katharine Legun
